Server –

Daytime Hours, Great Culture, Happy Customers & Good Tips!

 

We’re looking for an experienced, friendly, knowledgeable, service-oriented waitress/waiter with a passion for hospitality to join our team.  We want people with a positive attitude, who will take pride and ownership in consistently providing our guests with a delightful experience.

You’ll work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, guest-centric environment to provide an outstanding guest experience by:

  • Demonstrating genuine hospitality while greeting and establishing rapport with our guests
  • Guiding guests through menus while demonstrating thorough knowledge of the food, beverages and ingredients
  • Taking accurate orders and partnering with team members to serve food and beverages that meet or exceed guests’ expectations
  • Providing friendly and attentive service that makes guests feel well taken care of and builds their intent to return!

Opening Shift hours tend to be 9AM-4:30PM, while Closing Shift tends to be 11AM-6PM. Two to three days per week, with lots of potential to pick up additional shifts.

Pay rate for this position is $5.00 per hour, plus tips.

Back Server/Busser –

Daytime Hours, Great Culture, Happy Customers & Good Pay!

 

The primary duty of the Back Server at A Taste of Britain is to provide guests with the best experience possible by maintaining the dining room in a “ready status” for service and supporting the wait staff.

Additionally, the Back Server plays a key role ensuring that service runs smoothly by maintaining a clean, organized and well stocked service area.  Efficiency and speed contribute to guest satisfaction and turnover, which are vital to our restaurant.

  • Make sure the dining room is perfect at all times by clearing and resetting tables after guests leave
  • Support wait staff by assisting them with delivery of food/beverage and retrieval of any supplies they may require.
  • Respond sincerely and appropriately to guest requests and communicate these to servers if necessary
  • Check floor and clean as required
  • Assist dishwashers by removing clean dishes from bus tubs and stocking them in appropriate places
  • Thank the guests when they’re leaving
  • Fill in as needed, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant

Shift hours for the Back Server tend to be 10:30AM-4:00PM, two to three days per week, with lots of potential to pick up additional shifts.

Pay rate for this position is $8.00 per hour, plus a 10% tip-out from the wait staff.

In this position, we’re looking for someone who has worked in a restaurant and has experience assisting servers and other restaurant staff in their jobs. You should have good English communication skills, be comfortable standing for long periods of time, and able to lift up to 25 pounds. You are amiable with a positive attitude, friendly; enjoy providing great guest service, and able to work weekends and some holidays.

Experienced Restaurant Host/Hostess –

Great Culture, Daytime Hours

 

We’re looking for an experienced host/hostess to join our FOH Team. This is not your average host position! In addition to greeting and seating customers, you will handle incoming phone calls, field questions, process take away orders, and ring up retail purchases. This is a very busy, but fun position! We need someone with a “can-do” positive attitude, who will take pride in keeping things looking great, and truly enjoy helping our guests.

Previous restaurant experience is required, preferably in an upscale environment.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Clear speaking voice

  • Knowledge of, or interest in British food, British culture and teas is a big plus!

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a pleasant and welcoming face for our guests
  • Genuinely greet and thank all guests
  • Answer the phone; provide basic restaurant information; speak clearly and pleasantly
  • Perform opening duties to get ready for the day
  • Take reservations, including larger group reservations
  • Seat customers, communicate with servers
  • Know our menu and be able to answer questions about our menu
  • Ring up guest checks, run credit cards, close out guest checks
  • Process take away orders, enter into POS system, accept payments
  • Ring up retail purchases; answer retail questions; keep retail space looking neat, organized, and appealing; help with retail ordering (track items we’re getting low on)
  • Help servers (make tea, bus tables, run food, get drink refills, fill sugar bowls, fold napkins)
  • Provide basic private party and catering information to customers
  • Process credit card tips; close credit card batches
  • Ensure that dining room is kept in great condition; freshen flowers as needed; make sure all morning and end-of-day tasks have been completed
